The Minnesota Licensed Family Child Care Association's mission is  "To support the highest standard of care for children in licensed family child care homes through education..."

Here are some educational opportunities available to child care providers in Minnesota.

E-LECT (E-Learning for Early Childhood Teachers)

E.L.E.C.T., a new credit-based training initiative hosted by a consortium of twelve Minnesota Community and Technical Colleges. Each of the colleges are offering child development courses on-line, enabling students across Minnesota to access lower-division college courses and to complete the A.A.S. degree on-line. Check out the current classes available.

Eager-to-Learn, a program of the Minnesota Child Care Resource & Referral Network, is designed to provide high quality, affordable in-service training opportunities using electronic or E-Learning technologies and experienced, well-trained instructors. The program also features information and education about e-learning, links to other e-learning sites and a virtual meeting site for professional early childhood and school-age groups. The goal of this collaborative program is to provide a viable alternative for delivering rich learning experiences in a setting that reduces geographic, economic and other barriers of traditional professional development. Check out the current class offerings HERE.
